You can contact us to arrange for one of our weekly classes. If you do that, we will notify you when you are approaching the top of the waiting list. Please be patient, it can take some time for class openings to come about.

STAINED GLASS INFO

STUDENTS LEARN in a relaxed atmosphere by selecting from a catalog of projects suitable for beginners. By "suitable for beginners", we mean that the overall size is relatively small and the complexity is limited when compared to a professional-level piece. We do this because creating stained glass art is a multi-step process and there is a lot to learn! You will learn to select glass (choose your own colors!), transfer designs to pattern paper with appropriate layout markings, safely cut and grind glass, solder, apply putty, patina, wax, and polish your project until it's something you will be proud to display in your own home or that of a loved one. See the accompanying image for an example of a very pretty finished piece made by a student.

FEE AND SCHEDULE: This class meets weekly for a total of eight sessions. The class fee is $185, which includes the use of the studio, studio equipment, and professional instruction. Materials such as glass, lead, and zinc are additional. We'll store your in-process project for you during the week.

ONGOING CLASSES are available on a weekly basis for those wishing more advanced instruction. At this point, students will have the freedom to choose between designing their own project or choosing another from our catalog of designs. The weekly fee is $20.

AGE RESTRICTION: No experience is necessary, but due to the presence of power equipment, hot tooling, and sharp edges, we do have a minimum age requirement of 16.

SAFETY: You will need glasses or protective lenses (not contact lenses!) and enclosed shoes for your safety.

WAITING LIST: Stained glass artwork is a fantastic creative outlet. There is a waiting list for all classes.

Gift Certificate Purchase

Gift certificates are a great way to surprise that special someone with a present which they can immediately put to use toward their hobby. The purchaser likely doesn't know exactly what is needed to start or complete a project, but the recipient will know exactly what to do with the gift. Whether it goes toward a particular piece of glass, additional lead came, or simply gets applied toward continuing studio time, your recipient will be thankful for your gift—which is all that we can ask for!

Tapping/clicking the button below will take you to a secure payment page. Important points are listed below. The purchaser:

  • must enter the amount of the gift certificate
  • must provide the name of the certificate recipient (Who is it for?)
  • must provide an address so we can mail the physical gift certificate
  • must provide a valid email address if a receipt is desired
  • must provide a phone number—this could be useful if we need to contact you for some reason
