Class Information and Schedule

AGE RESTRICTION: No experience is necessary, but due to the presence of power equipment, hot tooling, and sharp edges, we do have a minimum age requirement of 16.

SAFETY: You will need glasses or protective lenses (contact lenses don't count!) and enclosed shoes for your safety.

WAITING LIST: There is a waiting list for all stained glass classes.

Contact us to arrange to attend one of our weekly classes. We will notify your when you are approaching the top of the wait list. If you prefer, you can to put yourself on the list. Familiarize yourself with the class schedules first to see what works for you.

STUDENTS LEARN in a relaxed atmosphere by selecting from a catalog of projects suitable for beginners. By "suitable for beginners", we mean that the overall size is relatively small and the complexity is limited when compared to a professional-level piece. We do this because creating stained glass art is a multi-step process and there is a lot to learn! You will learn to select glass (choose your own colors!), transfer designs to pattern paper with appropriate layout markings, safely cut and grind glass, solder, apply putty, patina, wax, and polish your project until it's something you will be proud to display in your own home or present to a loved one. See the accompanying image for an example of a very pretty finished piece in clear glass made by a student.

FEE AND SCHEDULE: This class meets weekly for a total of eight sessions. The class fee is currently $185, which includes the use of the studio, studio equipment, and professional instruction. Materials such as glass, lead, and zinc are additional. We'll store your in-process project for you during the week.

ONGOING CLASSES are available on a weekly basis for those wishing more advanced instruction. At this point, students will have the freedom to choose between designing their own project or choosing another from our catalog of designs. The weekly fee for ongoing classes is currently $20 per session.

P.S. It's fun! 😀

Gift Certificate Purchase

Gift certificates are a great way to surprise that special someone with a present which they can immediately put to use toward their hobby. The purchaser likely doesn't know exactly what is needed to start or complete a project, but the recipient will know exactly what to do with the gift. Whether it goes toward a particular piece of glass, a new tool, or simply gets applied toward continuing studio time, your recipient will be thankful for your gift — which is all that we can ask for!
