OLDER NEWS: We have resumed normal operating hours (Tue-Sat). Changes to our operations include social distancing and frequent disinfection within the studio. GLASS FUSING INFO

STUDENTS LEARN in a relaxed atmosphere by selecting from a catalog of projects suitable for beginners. By "suitable for beginners", we mean that complexity is limited when compared to a professional-level piece. We do this because fused glass art is a multi-step process and we will fit your class into a single day. There is a lot to learn about fusing glass and you can decide whether to make it your passion or simply make a small gift for a loved one or a memento for yourself.

FEE AND SCHEDULE: This is a one day class, usually on Saturday, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Materials needed to make your project can be purchased on the day of the class.

AGE RESTRICTION: No experience is necessary, but due to the presence of power equipment, hot tooling, and sharp edges, we do have a minimum age requirement of 16.

SAFETY: You will need glasses or protective lenses (not contact lenses!) and enclosed shoes for your safety.

WAITING LIST: There is currently no waiting list for this class.

STAINED GLASS INFO

STUDENTS LEARN in a relaxed atmosphere by selecting from a catalog of projects suitable for beginners. By "suitable for beginners", we mean that the overall size is relatively small and the complexity is limited when compared to a professional-level piece. We do this because creating stained glass art is a multi-step process and there is a lot to learn! You will learn to select glass (choose your own colors!), transfer designs to pattern paper with appropriate layout markings, safely cut and grind glass, solder, apply putty, patina, wax, and polish your project until it's something you will be proud to display in your own home or that of a loved one. See the accompanying image for an example of a very pretty finished piece made by a student.

FEE AND SCHEDULE: This is a six week class. The class fee is $100, which includes the use of the shop, shop equipment, and professional instruction. Materials such as glass, lead, and zinc are additional. We'll store your in-process project for you during the week.

ONGOING CLASSES are available on a weekly basis for those wishing more advanced instruction. At this point, students will have the freedom to choose between designing their own project or choosing another from our catalog of designs. The weekly fee is $15.

WAITING LIST: Stained glass artwork is a fantastic creative outlet. There is a waiting list for all classes.
